OpenWeb has introduced a new ADSL product that offers customers capped-unshaped data during peak hours and 6Mbps uncapped-shaped off-peak data.

The product, Hybrid Uncapped, is now available for the first 1 000 accounts that subscribe at R299 for 50GB; R499 for 100GB; R649 for 150GB and R849 for 200GB.

The packages will provide customers with capped-unshaped data during weekdays from 7am to 7pm and uncapped-shaped 6Mbps at all other times. Once customers reach their cap, daytime speed will be limited to 384k, but after hour speeds will remain untouched. Customers can top up their account at any time, says OpenWeb.

"Clients can purchase the accounts via debit order or credit card and it can be purchased as a once-off account or monthly. Should a client purchase via credit card, OpenWeb will provide instant activation."

OpenWeb CEO Keoma Wright says the company hopes Hybrid Uncapped will fill a gap in the market. "Clients are demanding premium capped bandwidth during office hours and uncapped data after hours."

Wright says OpenWeb the company is busy with a number of new developments, which it will unveil to the market in the next few months.
