Internet service provider (ISP) MWEB has announced its price packages for high-speed fibre to the home (FTTH) Internet.

MWEB is one of six ISPs working with fibre broadband provider Vumatel on a pilot project in the Johannesburg suburb of Parkhurst to roll out fibre to the home. Members of the community can choose their own ISP, as well as services for data and VOIP.

The project will expand to other suburbs in Johannesburg and Cape Town over the next few months, says Vumatel.

MWEB's launch packages, with access speeds ranging between 4Mbps and 1Gbps, are available for a trial period to test usage needs. The company says it is partnering with Vumatel on uncapped Internet provision, but will start offering capped options from January.
