Johann Els, open source specialist at SUSE South Africa, started his career in the telecommunications industry. He worked for Telkom SA, building his extensive knowledge in the wide area network (WAN) space, before entering the software arena at SUSE. Els has been with SUSE in SA for the past 10 years, growing from being a WAN expert to a full-blown specialist in open source. He promotes the SUSE open source, storage and cloud software solutions on a day-to-day basis to the company's enterprise target market. As the chief pre-sales resource, Els works closely with the SUSE team to design the architectural environment for enterprise clients to meet their open source requirements.
