Spescom joins forces with GijimaAst

Johannesburg, 07 Jan 2010

Listed IT company Spescom has signed a partnership agreement with GijimaAst through one of its subsidiaries.

The deal will see GijimaAst become one of Spescom DataVoice's channel partners. The agreement gives it access to the range of Spescom DataVoice products, including proprietary solutions that record, manage, re-create and analyse voice transactions and workforce optimisation.

Spescom group executive of marketing and communications, Stuart Vey, says the agreement is part of Spescom DataVoice's strategy to grow its channel. “It's more of a push behind our channel approach.”

Vey says the agreement will allow the company to get closer to the public sector.

New markets

Kgabo Badimo, MD of Spescom DataVoice, explains that the partnership will help the company grow its market base. “We will leverage GijimaAst's strength and expertise to access new markets, such as the public sector and mining.”

Last year, CEO Jen'e Palmer said Spescom was likely to partner with groups that already had a strong presence in government. She explained that this was a longer-term goal.

Spescom DataVoice's products and services, including the voice recording portfolio, provide solutions that are tailored to support business processes and meet security needs, improving client interactions and mitigating the risk associated with communications, such as dispute resolution.

GijimaAst will now have access to this range of products, which are becoming more relevant with pending legislation such as the Consumer Protection Act and King III, says Spescom.

Spescom was founded in 1977 and has 258 staff members working out of offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and London.
