Accor Hotels is now providing iPhone users with free access to an application that enables them to book accommodation in its hotels.

The application takes advantage of Apple's intuitive browsing capabilities and offers additional services, including geo-location features that enable users to search for the nearest hotels or calculate itineraries in real-time, the company says.

According to Jean-Luc Chr'etien, executive VP of Accor Hotels marketing and distribution, the application is accessible to 30 million iPhone users. “This new booking solution for the public will help us strengthen our leadership positioning in business and leisure hotels.”

The application also includes a personalised service that memorises the user's current reservations and favourite hotels, and synchronises with their iPhone contacts, says Chr'etien.

When booking via iPhone, users receive access to secure payment processing and promotional offers in Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, Novotel, Mercure, Suitehotel, Adagio, Ibis, All Seasons, Etap Hotel, Hotel F1 and Formule 1 hotels around the world.

The application is available in five languages: French, English, German, Spanish and Italian.
