Apple, Samsung: The saga continues

Samsung Electronics and Apple fought the latest battle of their patent wars on Monday, when the Korean firm urged a Dutch court to ban Apple's iPads and iPhones in the Netherlands, reports Firstpost Technology.

Samsung has also filed four patent cases against Apple in The Hague, and asked for a preliminary injunction against all of Apple's mobile products that use 3G technology, including iPhones and iPads.

Apple has previously won several legal victories over its competitor. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is banned from sale in Germany, and similar legislation against Samsung smartphones comes into effect in the Netherlands next month, according to Digital Spy.

A Dutch judge said on Monday he would rule by 14 October on Samsung's bid to ban the sale, distribution and import of Apple iPhones and iPads in the Netherlands, ahead of the next four separate patent cases due to run through to 17 November in The Hague, says The Economic Times.

The ban is likely to include the iPhone 5.
