Mpofu quits Altron board

Advocate Dali Mpofu, CEO of the South African Broadcasting Corporation, has tendered his resignation as a non-executive on Altron`s board, with effect from today.

Mpofu, born in 1962, became a non-executive director at Altron in mid-2005 when he resigned as an executive director after being appointed to the top post at the public broadcaster.

Moneyweb reports that he will chair Proudly South African.

Mpofu was appointed an executive director of the Altron group from 1 March 2003, having previously been group executive for corporate affairs, a position he held for two-and-a-half years.

Other positions Mpofu has held include acting judge in the Labour Court of SA, director of Deutsche Securities, national executive member of the National Association of Democratic Lawyers, member of the Johannesburg Bar Council, president of the Electronics Industry Federation as well as a member of the Council of the University of Johannesburg. He was also chairman of the ICT Empowerment Charter Working Group.
