inAni, Microplex, the perfect solution for African printing needs

Johannesburg, 17 Apr 2014

In today's business environment, printing needs are numerous, and there are various options available to meet these. The Printer Distribution Company (PDC) provides a wide range of branded solutions to its customers, and has recently added the inAni range to its portfolio.

inAni, meaning "value" in Zulu, is a range of printing solutions designed for the African market. The range consists of thermal POS printers, dot matrix printers, Bluetooth printers, thermal PCL printers, laser printers, thermal print heads, thermal ribbons, integrated touch screens, Taskworks Software, CCTV kits, dashcams, print and apply systems and barcode scanners, as well as bluetooth and RF scanners suitable for both office and industrial use.

One of the brand names encompassed in the inAni range is Microplex, the international specialist in thermal and continuous form laser printers.

Thermal printers are ideal for printing labels as they can either print directly onto heat sensitive paper or use heat to transfer ink from a ribbon. This technology makes it possible to achieve fast printing speeds, and the Microplex thermal printers are available in 4" 6" 8" and 11" media widths, providing a full range of printer solutions with the option of direct thermal and thermal transfer printing for printing applications in any environment.

"Thermal printing is perfect for companies needing to print on a variety of media, or for those that have labels subjected to heat or sunlight. It's also ideal for those lables that need to be scanned or have a longer shelf life. The Microplex range offers the most versatile printers in this class, and has the only thermal label printer that prints full speed directly from applications without using additional software, including Microsoft Windows, SAP/R3, Oracle, JD Edwards, Peoplesoft, Unix and other applications. These printers will also work with your current code providing a concurrent path to the future PCL5e. In addition, the LogiJet T8 direct thermal printer permits the use of heat activated thermal papers and films but requires no ribbon, saving on cost," says Rodney Bartman, CEO of PDC.

Similarly, continuous form laser printers are ideal for specialty media such as plastics, cardstock, etc., and large production batches that require unattended operation. With a range of printers that can achieve speeds of up to 166 pages per minute and 800 000 pages per month, the Microplex continuous form laser printers can meet the needs of the highest volume requirements.

The Microplex continuous form laser printers offer a variety of options. The Solid F36C is perfect for colour print applications such as those needed for invoices and statements, while the Solid F44 features low operating power consumption and optional intelligent paper stacking without operator involvement. The Solid f34 has two different fanfold media paths, alternatively accessible and an integrated paper cutter. The Solid F90HD offers up to 18 inch wide media with 17' print width, and the newest addition to the range, the F66 VS, boasts an automated, powered stacker as a standard feature and Xenon Flash Fusion technology which offers the ability to successfully fuse the print on a variety of media types.

"We have always focused on ensuring that we provide our customers with the best printing solutions available on the market, at the lowest price. The addition of the InAni range to our portfolio will make it easier for our African customers to have access to the Microplex range, which already has a good footprint across the continent," Bartman concludes.
