Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has brought Huawei's TE30 All-in-One HD video conferencing (VC) solution to the South African market, which it says is the world's first voice-dialling endpoint, featuring plug and play functionality and connecting users even in low bandwidth areas.

According to Zubair Loonat, Huawei enterprise product specialist at DCC, previously, VC technology was afforded to large enterprises that have the budget to invest in the technology and infrastructure.

"However, Huawei's TE30 opens VC to the SME market by offering an affordable, entry-level system catering to their needs and pockets. Ideal for small boardrooms and remote branches, the Huawei TE30 offers all the VC functionality for these environments and can be installed quickly and easily," says Loonat.

SMEs and remote branches rely on constant communication with one another and VC is a solution that minimises the need for travel when it comes to business meetings.

DCC says VC traditionally required a significant financial investment and many smaller organisations simply do not have the budget for this type of communication.

"The Huawei TE30 is compact and installation is simple, providing plug and play functionality in less than five minutes, with no complicated cabling and setup. The all-in-one design features everything required in a VC solution including a built-in HD codec - a program enabling the encoding and decoding of data streams and signals, camera and microphone," notes DCC.

The distributor explains that the Huawei TE30 allows for an HD experience with low bandwidth utilisation. Supporting Video Motion Enhancement and streaming at 1 080 frames per second and up to 512 kilobits per second, users can save up to 50% of bandwidth utilisation. The patented Super Error Concealment ensures high-quality video even with 20% packet-loss, therefore preventing picture quality degradation."

DCC says by calling the conference or site name, the Huawei TE30 will automatically connect the user without having to push a button, while the voice dialling capabilities allow the Huawei TE30 to recognise multiple languages. The user-friendly interface and remote-control design ensure the Huawei TE30 is easy to use and first-time users can make use of the Wizard to get started.

Built-in WiFi aids the support of wireless networks and the extensive system integration allows for integration with Microsoft Lync2010 and IMS, allowing users with Microsoft Lync to also join in on the VC call, further enabling organisations to reach a much wider audience.

Security mechanisms include standard H.460 and proprietary SNP technology to guarantee secure firewall traversal, while also featuring H.235 media stream and signalling encryption, preventing hacking into the VC.

Loonat notes that the system uses one cable and takes a few minutes to install and the unit can be wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted or placed on a television set. "This makes the TE30 ideal for small organisations requiring instant VC when needed without having to invest in expensive VC infrastructure. Reducing time for deployment, conference initiation times and maintenance costs while lowering bandwidth costs too, the Huawei TE30 is the ideal solution for any small business and boardroom," he concludes.

The Huawei TE30 All-in-One VC system is available immediately from DCC at a recommended retail price of R45 000.00 inclusive of VAT.
