Microsoft will not confirm whether MD of its SA unit, Mteto Nyati, has been promoted.
Microsoft SA is currently not supplying any comments on a news report that its top level management will be shuffled around as a new unit is created.
TechCentral reported Microsoft would announce SA MD Mteto Nyati will head up its Africa region in a newly-created position. Citing a source, the publication said his role will be filled by Microsoft SA COO Zoaib Hoosen.
Both Nyati and Hoosen are set to address the media tomorrow on "the future strategy of the business in South Africa and across Africa".
Nyati has been MD of Microsoft's local unit since August 2008, according to his LinkedIn profile, while Hoosen has been with the company for about three years. He joined Microsoft SA from IBM.
