Esquire Technologies, the award-winning distributor of IT, digital and consumer products, once again partnered with Caring Women's Forum Pretoria (CWF PTA) for the third consecutive year.

The company took on the mammoth task of finding a Mandela Day project that would be expressive in two folds: honouring Mandela Day, and honouring the legacy of the day - which is giving 67 minutes by doing good for the growth of the country's communities.

Asgar Mahomed, MD of Esquire Technologies, said: "Every year, at this time, Esquire celebrates Madiba and honours him by playing our part. This year, however, our cerebration was with a heavy heart as Tata is no longer with us. It is now even more important to uphold the values and to share his message of peace and humanity with our fellow countryman and continue his legacy."

Quraysha Ismail Sooliman from CWF PTA said that celebrating Mandela day is more than just a celebration, it is about celebrating life, adding that each of us should incorporate these values in our day to day life. She said everyone should strive to genuinely value Mandela and the morals - and the feelings he stood for - thereby enabling us to value the life of every individual.

Esquire, alongside CWF PTA, this year chose the Rosina Sedibane Modiba Sports School in Pretoria Gauteng - the only sport school within a distinct category of public schools in the province, targeting learners from disadvantaged and underprivileged backgrounds

Although this project took more than 67minutes it was a task that spanned over a month, with the final touches being completed on 18 July 2014.

The Esquire team painted and revamped the school's computer lab as well as making sure that all the computers are fully operational. Esquire's technical team also installed a fibre optic link between the main building and the computer lab so that it now has full access to the Internet -as this was one of the challenges facing the school. Basic outdoor equipment such as benches and tables were also supplied for the children to have their lunch during breaks, or to use them for studying purposes.

The jubilant School's Principal Mr NG Machaba commented that he was extremely grateful that Esquire and CWF PTA chose his school this year as it was in need of serious renovations and lacked some basic equipment.

He even commented further by saying that this has now "sparked new interest" in other learners in his school to enrol for computers classes.

Caring Women's Forum Pretoria organised a soup kitchen and took charge to make sure that the outdoor plants and trees were planted as this area also required a makeover. The team - in conjunction with learners from the school and volunteers from the community - also picked up litter and debris.

Finally, they jointly handed out 67 blankets to the school children.
