Following on its launch of Cliq5 earlier this week - a promotion targeted at its prepaid and hybrid customers - MTN has announced that subscribers who buy a R6 Cliq5 bundle will receive R300 worth of airtime to call and SMS five of their favourite on-net contacts over the weekend.
On Tuesday, the operator - SA's second largest - introduced the base promotion, which offers additional value when MTN subscribers buy bundles. Cliq5 is available in denominations of R6, R8 and R12, with inclusive value per bundle of R60, R90 and R140 respectively.
Rates across all three bundles for MTN-to-MTN voice calls are R1 per minute, 50c per SMS, and R2 per megabyte of data used. Interested customers need to link their five favourite MTN numbers they will call or text using the bundle, by dialling *141*5# and following the steps. They can then purchase any of the Cliq5 bundles by dialling *141*2*255#.
In addition to the initial value-add bundles, which are valid until 11:59pm on the day of purchase between now and the end of October, MTN subscribers can now benefit from the extra value on them between midnight tonight and 11:59pm on Sunday.
Limited duration
The Cliq5 promotion will be applicable to R6, R8 and R12 bundles. MTN subscribers who purchase a R6 Cliq5 bundle will receive R300 worth of airtime, while those who buy an R8 bundle will get R450 airtime. A R12 bundle will be worth an additional R700 in value.
However, the caveat is that the airtime expires on the date of purchase, and can only be used to call or SMS five MTN Cliq5 contacts the customer selected on the date of purchase. Customers can also use the bundle to surf the Internet.
The offer is applicable to all MTN customers, including those on MTN Pay per Second, MTN Pulse, Prepaid, MTN Anytime Top-Up, MTNChoice and Classic Contract price plans.
Contract customers with a self-service limit can purchase the MTN Cliq5 bundle by dialling *141*2*255#. Contract customers who do not have a self-service limit may contact their service provider or call 808 to load the MTN Cliq5 bundle. Alternatively, they can activate their self-service limit.
Once the MTN Cliq5 bundle has been depleted, customers will then be defaulted to their price plan rate. Customers who call other MTN customers, outside their Cliq5 numbers, will be charged their price plan rates.
