TMG's Vidi player will be available on the Google Play and Apple app stores.
Times Media Group has unveiled an advertising campaign in this morning's papers for the forthcoming launch a video-on-demand (VOD) service.
The service, dubbed Vidi, will have a range of television series and films, although the group did not specify when it would kick off.
In the adverts, the group entices viewers, with the tagline: "Your movies, your TV shows, your way. Coming soon to a device near you."
Vidi will be available download on the Apple and Google Play app stores, according to the adverts, which are pushing multi-award winning US TV show Breaking Bad as part of the offering.
Also included are numerous films including Need for Speed and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
