IndigoCube has announced that it will be a bronze sponsor of the forthcoming International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) SA Chapter Business Analysis South Africa Summit (BASSA) on 16 to 18 September 2014 at the Sandton Convention Centre. Also participating at the Summit is IndigoCube partner B2T, specialists in training and certification programmes for business analysts.

B2T Training's President, Jonathan "Kupe" Kupersmith will deliver a workshop on "Improving communication and collaboration through improvisation" along with IndigoCube principal specialist, Robin Grace. "Kupe" will also present a talk titled "Business analysis is dead, long live business analysis".
Kupersmith's colleague, Kent McDonald, will talk on "Analysis in Agile: There's more to it than user stories" while Grace will also contribute a perspective on "Business analysis: past, present and future".
The Summit offers a much-needed opportunity for business analysts to discuss incipient changes in their role. Modern-day business realities are placing ever-greater emphasis on software, and thus sparking profound changes in the approach to software development. Agile is one of these changes, and its emphasis on the collective and collaborative power of the team as a whole means the traditional business analyst role will be changing in order to accommodate this. Over time, Grace believes, many business analysts will play a key role in enhancing the overall performance of the team.
The dynamics driving the change and related issues will be key issues under discussion at the Summit, says Grace.
"Agile approaches are revolutionising the way in which we approach software development and thus are redefining the business analyst role," he says. "Business analysis will remain a critical skill in software development, but how it is done will change. Business analysts need to understand the trends and prepare themselves for the next stage of their role's development."
