Siemens has chosen software vendor SNP Schneider-Neureither & Partner to deliver its solution, SNP Transformation Backbone. By using the world's first standard software solution for automated analysis and standardised implementation of changes in ERP systems, Siemens is now able to efficiently harmonise its IT landscape and reduce complexity.
"Siemens has been collaborating successfully with SNP for years, and uses SNP's software in many projects," says Michael Brauer, Head of Corporate Automation at Siemens. "In more than 50 projects around the world, we have leveraged SNP Transformation Backbone to reduce complexity in our SAP landscape and optimise our IT infrastructure."
With the deployment of SNP Transformation Backbone, Siemens intends to continue reducing project duration and IT costs. All the company's IT departments across the globe now have the ability to implement changes in their ERP systems quickly, and effectively - with minimum downtime.
Compared to traditional approaches, SNP Transformation Backbone can migrate large amounts of data sets to new IT systems within days. Thus, Siemens is now able to react faster and more flexibly to changing conditions and can adapt its IT landscape accordingly, even throughout the year.
"SNP Transformation Backbone enables users to develop their own expertise to implement transformation projects, eg, acquisitions or carve outs, without the need for external consulting," explains Dr Andreas Schneider-Neureither, CEO of SNP. "We are excited that our long-term customer Siemens is using SNP Transformation Backbone on a global level and can now share best practices with its project teams."
