As a business owner, you are always looking for ways to streamline your business processes and improve your capabilities, says George Golding, CEO of Euphoria Telecom. This can be achieved by reducing costs and implementing systems that are more efficient and more quantifiable.

A company phone bill can be a constant cause of conflict, as it can be hard to track the purpose and yield of each call made from your office. With a cloud-based system like Euphoria Telecom you can manage, control and analyse every element of your telephone system with precision. In addition, it can be used strategically to set goals and rate employees' performance and yield.

Firstly, we need to demystify what cloud and cloud PABX is, and how it differs from a traditional business PABX system.

What is cloud?

Cloud-based technology is everywhere these days, and refers to all services accessible via the Internet to users, held and stored virtually on a service provider's cloud server for cloud computing, storage, printing etc. Through cloud computing, companies can improve functionality and increase capacity in a cost efficient manner.

What is cloud PABX?

Cloud PABX is basically a phone service supplied through the Internet as opposed to a landline cabling system; it is also called an Internet phone system or a cloud-based phone system. The reason for this service becoming so popular is largely due to the high efficiencies and low cost; with its key benefits being flexibility and scalability.

Benefits of cloud PABX

The simple task of adding an additional line for a new employee used to be a very laborious process; with cloud it is a simple process that you can manage yourself. This system gives the business owner complete control and is designed to grow with your business.

Effective cost tracking and sophisticated management tools are accessible from your desktop and with features like call waiting, caller ID, call recording, custom hold music and many more, a cloud PABX system offers an agile solution with a user-friendly operating system.

Did you know a single cloud PABX system can service your entire business, across multiple locations? This scalability is one of the features of a cloud-based PABX system that makes it such a popular choice for business owners.

Comparison to traditional PABX

A traditional PABX (private branch exchange) requires a physical PABX box and offers key features like voicemail, conference calling and so forth. The PABX comprises a large panel with numerous phone lines connecting to it; it's quite unsightly, which is why it is normally kept in a back room. The traditional PABX came with a number of fundamental disadvantages: large capital investment required to install and set up; ongoing cost to make small changes, upgrading and fixing; no back-up, which created a dependency on this system.

Conversely, a cloud PABX doesn't need a physical PABX box as it is based in the cloud, i.e. a secure server maintained by your hosting company. You use the Internet to transmit your voice, as opposed to traditional telephone line, and you can talk via a softphone (headset) or a hardphone (it looks like a traditional telephone with a handset and buttons with which you dial).

Cloud PABX systems are flexible, scalable and cost-efficient business communication systems that will enable your business to elevate its operations and performance to the next level. Euphoria Telecom is a reliable and customer-focused business partner that can expertly guide you through the transformation and set-up process in an effortless and professional way.
