The rAge Expo, an annual three-day gaming event held at the Coca-Cola Dome from 10 to 12 October 2014, was a great success, and saw local gamers come together from all over the country.
Over the course of a single weekend, tens of thousands of visitors gather to soak up the latest in gadgets, hard drives, gaming PCs and notebooks and games. In its 12th year, the expo has quickly become southern Africa's biggest gaming event - one that WD always looks forward to.
This year, WD provided a great source of excitement by bringing out gaming professional player Stephen Ellis, also known as Snoopeh, famous for his exploits on the League of Legends team Evil Geniuses. WD gave fans the opportunity to meet, greet and interact with Ellis, and even join him for interactive LAN sessions. Fans were also able to hear him speak about WD's products for gamers and the WD-sponsored Black Monster Cup tournament, a League of Legends tournament.
Says Kalvin Subbadu, Sales Manager for Components at WD South Africa: "We hosted a tournament each day over the course of the event and gave away a WD Black drive each day to the winner. The event was a great success and we were glad to be part of this prestigious gaming convention."
