Panda Security grows base of cloud partners in east Africa

Cape Town, 30 Oct 2014

Panda Security continues to increase its footprint in Africa recently appointing BA Internet Solutions as a premier partner. Panda Security and BA Internet see the partnership as an opportunity to grow the adoption of cloud technology within the region and provide Kenyans with innovative security and management solutions, as well as superior customer service.

"We are very excited to have an additional partner in the Kenyan region, especially one with such ambition. BA Internet has shown true dedication by ensuring several candidates complete our eCampus (technical and sales) courses and focus on providing knowledgeable feedback to customers," explains Jeremy Matthews, country manager for Panda Security.

BA Internet Solutions is an integrated IT network security and software development company. It has set out to change the misconceptions people have regarding cloud technology and to assist companies in avoiding cyber crime/hacking through the provision of integrated network security software.

Derrick Wanjawa, Director of BA Internet Solutions, says: "I believe in Panda's products; these products revolutionise the management of the IT infrastructure. Imagine having an anti-virus that interlinks your remote branches cost effectively and with ease. This is top notch technology."

According to Wanjawa, there has been an increase in demand for cloud computing and virtualisation in the east African market and users are more receptive to this concept than ever before. It's important for businesses in Kenya to protect themselves from cyber crime and to understand the risks involved.

BA Internet offers Panda's cloud-based end-user protection products such as Panda Cloud Office Protection (PCOP) and Panda Cloud Office Protection Advanced (PCOPA). The latter includes Exchange Server protection and Web filtering. Administrators are able to block access to Web sites containing unproductive or dangerous content through an easy-to-use console.

"Panda is a technological giant with regards to cloud technology and innovation and I want Kenyans to use this amazing security solution and experience what they have been missing," asserts Wanjawa.

Mainstream adoption of cloud computing is expected over the next few years in Kenya, according to Frost & Sullivan, particularly because of the increasing access to affordable bandwidth. SMEs are predicted to be the most important driver of growth of cloud computing services in years to come. A dedicated partner channel will be key to Panda Security's success in this market.
