Linux Warehouse partners with Stratus Technologies to expand fault tolerance and high-availability solutions

Johannesburg, 31 Oct 2014

Linux Warehouse, a value-added distributor of enterprise open source solutions, is proud to announce its collaboration with Stratus Technologies, a global provider of always-on solutions. The partnership will enable Linux Warehouse to introduce Stratus Technologies' next-generation software, everRun Enterprise, which has been developed to prevent downtime, to the sub-Sahara African market.

The partnership will allow Linux Warehouse to distribute Stratus Technologies' simple and affordable enterprise-grade availability solutions that protect data integrity and ensure business continuity in mission-critical applications, to its reseller network.

Russell Gill, General Manager at the Linux Warehouse, says the everRun Enterprise product is a logical fit into the EOS environment. In today's day and age, most IT professionals are concerned with high availability (HA), the everRun product has taken this a step further and looked at fault tolerance to identify and pre-warning the IT administrator of a potential system fail over, effectively taking the stance of prevention is better than a cure to the IT environment. This type of forward thinking is what value added is all about and the Linux Warehouse is proud to associate and align themselves with everRun Enterprise to service the IT environment going forward.

Brendan Widlake, Business Development Executive at Stratus Technologies, believes the partnership is a natural fit. "Stratus has been delivering always-on availability solutions for critical computing needs for over 34 years, and everRun Enterprise is our latest software-based availability offering.

"Designed to deliver mainframe-like availability to virtualised workloads, everRun Enterprise uses Linux based hypervisor KVM to keep Windows and Linux applications always-on with no changes to the applications needed. As the leading enterprise-grade, specialist software distributor in Africa, Linux Warehouse understands this world extremely well," he says.

everRun Enterprise's fault-tolerant features ensure it prevents downtime while protecting data. Application and system component monitoring provide early warnings that allow organisations to achieve business continuity plans. The software features built-in disaster recovery and is operable in physical, virtual and cloud environments.
