I'm eager to grow within DCC and look forward to taking the Canon and Epson brands to the next level, says DCC's Jolene Naidu.

Jolene Naidu has been appointed by distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC) as its Canon and Epson product specialist.

Naidu is responsible for managing and developing national sales for the Canon and Epson consumables product ranges. Her role includes vendor management, sales management and support, marketing management and back-office management.

"I am comfortable and happy in this new role. I'm eager to grow within DCC and look forward to taking the brands to the next level in this fast-paced industry where there is no delaying anything," she explains.

"The portfolio I am involved in is doing great. Statistics have improved incredibly over the years. I want to continue growing these numbers in terms of sales, and work hand-in-hand with the hardware team. The more printers get sold, the better for the company."

She cites increasing product knowledge, educating the consumer about the quality of the products the company sells and creating relationships with clients as some of her long-term goals.

Naidu says in the past there was little to nothing one could do to educate the consumer about consumables, but now consumers can be informed about the quality of the products and how environmentally safe they are.

According to Naidu, there are two challenges she will face in this role: competitors and compatibles.

"There are so many similar products and ideas in the market that compete with our brand, and compatible consumables are much cheaper, so that's where it becomes important for consumers to have adequate product knowledge."

She looks forward to seeing the brand grow, becoming successful in her long- and short-term goals and building a larger contact-base that will ultimately lead to an increase in sales.

Naidu has garnered experience in various industries, including safety and security, and the motor industry. She moved to the IT industry in 2007, and gained experience in various environments, among them sales and marketing, providing her with the skills to deal with existing and potential customers in the retail space.

She has various certifications in IT sales training, has completed an Advanced Computing diploma and is certified in business management.
