Fujitsu RunMyProcess ? an arm of the tech giant that operates a platform-as-a-service in business application development for the enterprise world ? has released Easy Builder, a new application development environment targeted specifically at business users.
Unveiled at Fujitsu Forum 2014, in Munich this week, the company says it offers an innovative cloud platform that removes the barriers to digital transformation - allowing companies to create, deploy and distribute highly customised enterprise and mobile business applications.
RunMyProcess was acquired by Fujitsu in April last year and, according to the company, has played a key role in the cloud-enablement of human-centric innovation, providing a platform for the rapid creation of end-to-end digital solutions that seamlessly integrate infrastructure, information and people.
Human-centric innovation is the core theme of this year's event, and Fujitsu's major vision going forward. The company says Easy Builder is part of this vision, and describes it as a new drag-and-drop application development environment for the creation and distribution of device-independent, collaborative and workflow-based applications without coding.
Matthieu Hug, CEO of Fujitsu RunMyProcess, says it is becoming more and more crucial to unite people, information and resources to drive rapid innovation. He adds Fujitsu RunMyProcess helps businesses create new business-IT relationships based on collaboration and empowerment, allowing business users to address their challenges even when the traditional IT approach might consider them too expensive, or too low on the priority list.
"Easy Builder lowers the barriers to delivering simple applications and extends the benefits of development far beyond the traditional application developer community," says Hug.
He says the solution is based on the same underlying capabilities as the full RunMyProcess platform, and in this way, all applications are extensible within the full development environment, allowing for seamless onward collaboration with IT and full visibility and governance of all activities.
Hug adds Easy Builder allows organisations to quickly create applications which can be tested and adapted within the organisation - enabling a culture of faster and more continuous innovation.
"Easy Builder is not a separate solution: it is a complete and complementary development environment which will help our clients collaborate more effectively across the end-to-end application life cycle."
Key features of Easy Builder include a rapid, model-based delivery of device-independent applications and seamless extensibility into more complex, IT-supported systems, says Fujitsu RunMyProcess.
Easy Builder is available immediately to existing customers by request in beta version. The public version will be available to all Fujitsu RunMyProcess customers from January.
