In a move it claims "heralds the dawn of a new era of the business-centric data centre", Fujitsu has debuted Primeflex, its new solution for Fujitsu integrated systems.

The Primeflex brand is a line-up of over 20 solutions, to cover the entire range of needs in the data centre.

According to the company, with Primeflex, Fujitsu is empowering businesses to accelerate their business expansion, eliminate complexity and reduce risk by enabling the faster deployment of more powerful data centre technologies.

Ayman Abouseif, VP of product marketing at Fujitsu, says customers opt for integrated systems to lessen project time and remove uncertainty - because this approach is faster and significantly less risky than trying to integrate components on their own.

"Fujitsu is adding an instantly recognisable name, Primeflex, to frame an already comprehensive line-up of integrated systems. The Primeflex family runs from virtualisation to cloud, from ERP to in-memory, from Microsoft to SAP and from big data to high-performance computing, and we'll be adding more in early 2015."

He says integrated systems are made up of server, storage and connectivity, with software and management layers added in that are pre-integrated and pre-tested for specific workloads.

"Integrated systems are gaining market share due to their known ability to create new value for businesses. Faster time to market and hassle-free life cycle management for integrated systems are lowering operational costs and complexity, by removing the need for customers to manage their own ad hoc and laborious system integration projects."

"Primeflex systems, which encompass solutions from Fujitsu partners such as Microsoft, VMware and SAP, are all packaged and tested by Fujitsu. Customers can also choose Fujitsu Lifecycle Management for managing system updates and ongoing stack compatibility, as well as Fujitsu SolutionContract to tackle unplanned system downtime."

A recently introduced member of the range, Primeflex for Hadoop, is a scalable platform that provides business users with a more cost-effective way of creating actionable analytics from big data, says Fujitsu. The solution analyses large volumes of information to extract and make accessible business-relevant data, combining the convenience of pre-configured and pre-tested hardware and the economic advantages of open source software plus system support and life cycle management.

"To further smooth the operation of all integrated systems, Fujitsu offers comprehensive system integration services capabilities, data centre services including hosting, managed data centre and cloud infrastructure-as-a-service. Pay-as-you-go financing options are also available."

Fujitsu Integrated System Primeflex pricing varies by configuration, services and geographic region. Solutions are mostly offered on a global basis although not all systems and solutions are available in all regions.
