Prenesh Padayachee, CTO of Internet Solutions (IS), is set to join Telkom as the new MD for wholesale services.
The appointment will come into effect from 1 January, the telco says.
Padayachee has been with IS since 1998 and has been responsible for developing the global strategic technology initiatives and ensuring the expansion of the company's local and international operating environment to accommodate the rapid advances in technology and client requirements.
Telkom says Padayachee's knowledge and experience are "ideally suited" to the role he will play at the telco at a time when it "continues to strategically reposition the wholesale business with the goal of achieving an access-agnostic network".
Padayachee has also worked for IBM as a technical specialist.
