First Technology Group invests in Ascent Technology

Johannesburg, 25 Nov 2014

Ascent Technology is pleased to announce that leading South African technology enterprise, First Technology Group, has invested in the company by procuring a significant equity stake. The investment will create closer ties between the two entities and will mean they are able to very effectively leverage off one another's technology skills.

Arnold Sharp, CEO of First Technology Group, says he expects this partnership to have a positive impact on the market.

"Ascent is recognised as a market leader in its space, and we are eager to capitalise on the additional value add that Ascent's specialised enterprise database management, administration and consulting expertise can provide to our clients."

Ascent Technology MD, Johan Lamberts, adds that his company is well aware of the value that comes with being part of a respected major IT group with national footprint. "Ascent's affiliation with First Technology will enable it to compete on a larger scale than ever before. In addition, it will enable us to improve Ascent's BBBEE rating, and open up a host of new client opportunities for the company in both the private and public sectors."
