Adobe Connect 9.3 delivers enhanced virtual meetings

Cape Twon, 12 Dec 2014

Dax Data, leading Adobe channel distributor, has launched the latest release of Adobe's Connect platform; a Web conferencing platform for Web meetings, e-learning and Webinars.

The update provides new features and functionality across many different areas of the product; such as sharing improvements, social media integration and detailed reports.

"The new features in Adobe Connect 9.3 are designed with end-users in mind - to make online streaming and presenting as effortless as possible," comments Jeremy Matthews, CEO of Dax Data; Adobe Connect specialists. "We've seen an increase in the use of video conferencing, whether for virtual meetings, webinars or educational purposes," he adds.

Screen sharing improvements

Screen sharing is the most common activity in an Adobe Connect room and version 9.3 introduces a new screen-sharing control panel that enables users who are sharing their screen to see a preview of what is being shared, control the video and the audio in the meeting, manage participants, interact with chat as well as see and respond to any notifications. In addition to the new screen sharing control panel, Adobe Connect 9.3 makes it easier to determine what is about to be shared.

Life-like whiteboard

Adobe has an incredible legacy of creating some of the best drawing tools for both desktop and mobile apps. In version 9.3, Adobe created a consistent experience between desktop and mobile and designed the interface to work well whether users use their fingers, stylus pens, or mouse. In addition to much more precision, some new tools are available - like the new pen and pencil tools that join the improved marker and highlighter tools. Customers can now use a virtual whiteboard the same way they would use a physical whiteboard in a classroom. When combined with a mobile device, it makes for an easy way to write equations or notes.

Social media integration

In Adobe Connect 9.3 events can now be customized to include Twitter and Facebook buttons to spread the word about an event. In addition to using social media to promote events, the new Social Stream pod brings the conversation from Twitter and Instagram right into a meeting. The host can configure specific hashtags to search for and even post to Twitter directly from the Adobe Connect room. The pod is synchronized with all of the other participants in the Adobe Connect room.

E-mail reports

Version 9.3 includes a new downloadable report to give customers more insight into the emails that have been sent out. This report not only shows which emails were sent, to who, and when, but includes a status indicator to let the Event Manager know if the email has bounced back or if the customer has opted out. In fact, the ability to include an opt-out option for email is another new feature added to Adobe Connect 9.3.

Many businesses can achieve the benefits of face-to-face meetings through an investment in a video or Web conferencing solution, saving the company both travel time and resources. Selecting the right technology to replace in-person meetings begins with understanding organisational needs and pairing these needs with the optimal conferencing solution. Adobe Connect offers an affordable award-winning web conferencing solution with multipoint video and advanced audio, as well as an expansive set of collaboration features. There are no barriers to entry, it allows for effective and highly interactive online meetings, training, and events, regardless of the location of the presenter or participant.
