Johannesburg, 12 Dec 2014
OpenText (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), the global leader in enterprise information management (EIM), today announced that a South African individual and Datacentrix have been honoured at Enterprise World 2014, the former's global annual customer conference event that was held in Florida, USA, last month.
"Jan du Plessis, Acting Chief Director: Strategic Management and Operational Support of the Western Cape Government's Department of Transport and Public Works was a recipient of a 2014 Enterprise Champion Award," commented Lenore Kerrigan, Country Manager of OpenText in South Africa. "We are extremely proud of Jan and his achievements, and welcome the recognition that has been given to him and his organisation in this regard.
"Jan has pioneered EIM within WCG for many years, with the DTPW being the first to enable EIM within the province and showing it and other departments the value add that it offers. In particular, over the last year or so, they have rolled out two groundbreaking processes, which have transformed their service to the public, namely, a Correspondence Tracking module and a Registry Virtual Mailroom," explained Kerrigan. "To have a South African individual recognised from the many entries that were received from around the world is no mean achievement.
"Datacentrix was one of a handful of Partner Award winners at Enterprise World that walked away with the 'Fast Growth Markets Partner of the Year' award," continued Kerrigan. "Datacentrix has been a successful partner of ours for many years and we are delighted with this particular recognition, which is truly well deserved.
"Thus, South Africa has been prominent at this year's Enterprise World event from an awards perspective," concluded Kerrigan, "and we look forward to even more success from our customers and partners in 2015."
In southern Africa, OpenText has a number of business partners and its customer base includes organisations from both the public sector and private sector across multiple vertical market segments.
