Munich, 20 Jan 2015

Fujitsu today extends its popular LIFEBOOK notebook and STYLISTIC tablet range with new devices featuring the latest fifth generation Intel Core vPro processor family. With this line-up, Fujitsu responds to the continuing trend of companies offering their workforce the opportunity to "choose your own device" that is right for their individual needs.

The new Fujitsu notebooks feature improved battery runtimes - with one model even capable of running 24 hours on a single battery charge - and deliver higher performance. New models to join the LIFEBOOK range include a classic clamshell, a two-in-one device and two Ultrabooks all offering optional features such as convenient touch-screens, plus must-have enterprise requirements like Trusted Platform Module and SmartCard readers.

Selected new LIFEBOOK models1 are also compatible with a standardised, universal docking station: The LIFEBOOK Family Port Replicator can now be used with eight2 different computing devices, including notebooks, Ultrabooks, two-in-one devices and even a mobile workstation.

New models joining the Fujitsu LIFEBOOK and STYLISTIC line-up:

* The FUJITSU notebook LIFEBOOK S935 - a versatile, lightweight notebook in the 33.8cm (13.3-inch) category that is popular with frequent travellers, offering a runtime of up to 24 hours3 - plus Fujitsu's innovative PalmVein Sensor4 for additional security.
* The FUJITSU tablet LIFEBOOK T935 - a 33.8cm (13.3-inch) two-in-one device that combines the flexibility of a tablet with the power, long battery runtime and super-thin design of an Ultrabook.
* The FUJITSU tablet LIFEBOOK T725 - a smaller, 31.8cm (12.5-inch) two-in-one device that fits the new docking station, designed to enable users to optimise their productivity through its modular bay concept, where the optical drive can be replaced with a second battery, a second hard drive or a weight-saving blank.
* The FUJITSU notebook LIFEBOOK U745 - a 35.6cm (14-inch) slim and light Ultrabook that provides the best of both worlds for professionals craving optimum mobility and requiring full connectivity like a VGA output - also adding an additional security layer with PalmVein Sensor technology and compatibility with the new docking station.
* The FUJITSU tablet STYLISTIC Q7755 - a 33.8cm (13.3-inch) two-in-one device offers a wide range of connectivity options, including LTE, GPS and even NFC, while the optional PalmVein Sensor technology provides an additional security level.

New common port replicator, common cradle for extra convenience, reduced TCO

By standardising on a new common port replicator for notebooks and a common cradle for tablets6, users can enjoy the convenience of desktop computing when in the office - with their device jacked in to the main power supply and instantly connected to displays, Ethernet networks and external USB peripherals such as keyboards, mouse devices and other accessories. Notebooks and tablets snugly click in to the dock - without any need to reboot - and undocking is a one-handed operation that simply requires the flick of a switch.

Fujitsu's new docking station standard lowers total cost of ownership (TCO) since it means a reduction in expenditure on computing hardware and the ability to re-use existing docks when notebooks reach the end of their life cycle. Meanwhile, mobile workers benefit from simply being able to dock-and-work in hot-desk environments, without needing to buy or carry multiple cables and adaptors, or waste time plugging in multiple devices every time they change desks.

J"org Hartmann, Vice-President Global Client Computing Devices, at Fujitsu, says: "We have recognised that organisations now want to give their workforce more choice when it comes to their business notebook. At Fujitsu, we are able to offer a wide range of notebooks and tablets, so when updating our popular LIFEBOOK models, we also took the opportunity to standardise on docking stations, and therefore solve an everyday annoyance for users. This is another example of how Fujitsu's Human Centric product design makes it appealing for people to use our devices, and helps the bottom line of businesses too."
