Uber and Zomato offer a dine and drive experience through a new partnership.

Zomato, a global restaurant search and discovery service, and taxi app Uber have teamed up to allow users to book cabs to their dining destination through the Zomato app.

The feature will initially be available to Zomato users in London, Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban, and will subsequently be rolled out to "other key markets", a statement notes. "Uber will also bring Zomato content closer to its users over the next few months, to showcase nearby restaurants when passengers arrive at their destination."

Zomato provides information for over a million restaurants across 22 countries, while Uber is available in more than 128 cities in 36 countries today.

The statement explains that, once a user has found a place to dine at or have drinks at using the Zomato app, a single tap on the Uber button on the restaurant page will allow the user to find the nearest Uber taxi.

In addition to seeing the estimated fare and how long it will take for Uber to arrive, users will be able to choose the Uber service that best suits their needs.

Pankaj Chaddah, co-founder and COO of Zomato, says the partnership is a "huge leap forward in creating a seamless experience for users, from finding a place to eat, to getting to the restaurant in style - all in just a few taps on their smartphones".
