OpenText Application Governance & Archiving 10.7 for Microsoft SharePoint introduces Microsoft Office 365 support

Johannesburg, 26 Jan 2015

OpenText (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in enterprise information management (EIM), has announced the availability of OpenText Application Governance & Archiving (AGA) 10.7 for Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft SharePoint Services.

The solution enables customers to move from on-premises instances of Microsoft SharePoint to Microsoft Office 365 in the cloud, while maintaining core information governance and compliance processes, and integrating content from other enterprise applications such as SAP and Oracle EBS.

As enterprises move core business processes and information to the cloud, organisations will establish strict information governance guidelines and require adherence to corporate and regulatory compliance requirements.

With the widespread adoption of Microsoft SharePoint, and increasing popularity of Microsoft Office 365, enterprises are looking for efficient ways to manage content and information in a compliant manner.

Providing access to core information sources from any device, in any location, OpenText now extends its proven capabilities of compliance management and integration of ERP systems to Office 365 users.

"Today's CIOs are being asked by the business to reduce costs and provide anytime and any device access to information by adopting cloud services like Office 365," said Patricia Nagle, vice-president, Global Strategic Alliances at OpenText. "Together, Microsoft and OpenText are helping them to do so in a compliant way, while extending the usability of Office 365 by enabling collaboration with third-party ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle, a clear demonstration of the benefit of Microsoft and OpenText's partnership to enterprise customers."

OpenText is Microsoft's only Global ISV delivering enterprise information management solutions for SharePoint, SharePoint Online and Office 365, providing benefit to enterprise customers in highly regulated industries and addressing EIM requirements.

OpenText Application Governance & Archiving for Microsoft SharePoint and OpenText SharePoint Services for Extended ECM provide integrated, end-to-end management of SharePoint sites and documents across an entire enterprise. With sophisticated site deployment and management tools, a framework for provisioning native SharePoint business applications with built-in compliance and the ability to integrate enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, the OpenText Application Governance & Archiving for Microsoft SharePoint (AGA) and OpenText Microsoft SharePoint Services for Extended ECM (SPS) solutions combine all content sources in a single solution.

These capabilities help organisations to meet compliance and archiving requirements, manage the growth of SharePoint sites, provide access to disparately spread enterprise content, reduce ongoing administration and storage costs and improve user productivity. Unique in the marketplace, AGA and SPS support multiple SharePoint on-premises landscapes even with different SharePoint versions, SharePoint Online (Office 365) or hybrid environments through the same compliance and archiving back-end infrastructure.
