CTDC and CTIA courses will again be presented by EPI CEO, Edward van Leent.

The CTDC and CTIA courses will again be presented by Edward van Leent, Chairman and CEO of EPI. He is the principle author of both these training courses and also a member of the technical committee who advises and effects changes in the TIA-942 standard. Attending these courses will provide participants with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with the person who is regarded as the highest authority in the world on applying and understanding the ANSI/TIA-942 Data Centre Standard.

The price for CTDC includes an electronic version of the latest TIA-942 Standard, which is valued at USD570.

Please note: delegates who want to attend the CTDC course in March must, at minimum, possess a valid CDCP certification (or recognised qualification equivalent). Without such a certification, attendance of the CTDC course is not possible. There is only one CDCP course scheduled prior to the upcoming CTDC course where delegates can obtain this prerequisite. The CDCP course will be held in Johannesburg from 25-27 February 2015 and is confirmed. Please register soon to avoid disappointment.

Dee Smith and Associates' training portfolio has grown, and so has course attendance.

During 2014, the company introduced four new courses - CTDC, CTIA, CDRP and CITM. These were all well received and it plans to build on this initial momentum during 2015.

Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP) remains the most popular course. This course covers various aspects around data centre design at an introductory level. During 2014, a total of 77 delegates attended the CDCP training courses. Dee Smith and Associates also delivered the first-ever CDCP course in Zimbabwe.

Certified Data Centre Migration Specialist (CDMS) - a new course on the horizon

Dee Smith and Associates strives to provide training that adds value and benefit for all its clients and course attendees. It also ensures it keeps abreast of trends and demands within the market to ensure the relevant courses on offer are aligned with expectations. To this end, Dee Smith and Associates is again introducing a new course during the first half of 2015 - Certified Data Centre Migration Specialist (CDMS).

Data centre migrations are exceptionally high-risk undertakings, which most data centre professionals have never undertaken before, or have done only a few times during their careers. The level of effort put into the planning and discovery phase is directly proportionate to the amount of risk mitigated. It is an exercise that requires collaboration with various areas of the business with which one might not normally interface.

This course covers the planning and execution of a data centre migration. It is a two-day course which covers all aspects of a data centre migration. It provides a step-by-step methodology which enables course participants to reduce or mitigate the exposure to risks involved during such a complex undertaking.
