ATOM range by Powell Tronics, addresses gap in T&A market

Johannesburg, 10 Feb 2015

Powell Tronics not only aligns itself with superior suppliers, but the company also reacts to market demand and develops products to address obvious needs. John Powell, MD of Powell Tronics, says that the company decided in mid-2013 to design and develop a time and attendance (T&A) system that would be easy to use and install, while simultaneously being budget-friendly.

All ATOM products are Web-based to ensure ease of access and monitoring, while at the same time eliminating the costs associated with buying software outright.

Zulmira Ferraz, technical manager at Powell Tronics, explains the ATOM Core software was launched on 5 May 2014 as a basic entry-level biometric template distribution system for Morpho readers. This program provides access from any location on a network and facilitates biometric template distribution to the terminals on the network. There is no limit on the number of users enrolled or readers linked to the system and basic reporting is provided. Licences are based on the number of biometric readers being used, with the first three readers being purchased at no charge for the software.

The ATOM Charged module has all the functionality of ATOM Core, plus a time and attendance element. Released in September, this system requires no fixed backbone and integrates fully with Morpho biometric readers to provide data on employee rosters, leave and shift schedules. Licensing is based on the number of employees enrolled for T&A as well as the number of readers integrated with the software.

ATOM Charged allows employers to extract T&A reports and to export data directly to payroll systems or via CSV or ASCII format. The sleek user interface is easy to access and use, making it a true asset to companies focused on functionality and simplicity.

ATOM Fusion module has been developed to provide integration with Impro software suites as a T&A module. Readers on the access control system may be designated as clocking points for time & attendance. This allows management to focus on the T&A functions only. Licensing on ATOM Fusion, which was launched on 1 November, is based on the number of employees registered for T&A.

"After hearing what our customers in the market required in terms of a cost effective T&A program that would support Morpho readers directly or via the Impro access control system, we investigated the possibility of developing our own in-house solution. Ideal for small to medium sized businesses, the result is a highly effective range of products that seamlessly integrate with two of our commonly supported brands," Powell concludes.
