The market needs a fresh view on business intelligence, says Ranka Jovanovic, editorial director at ITWeb.

New research results scheduled for release at ITWeb Business Intelligence Summit 2015 will assist delegates in understanding the drivers in the South African market of current approaches to business intelligence, analytics and big data.

ITWeb has partnered with TA Consulting to conduct the survey, which will also unpack where local organisations have had successes or failures in the use of data and analytics, and the contributing factors.

The results of the research will be drawn from an online questionnaire and face-to-face interviews with selected C-level executives. They will be released by TA Consulting director, Kim Andersen, at the 10th annual ITWeb BI summit, to be held at Vodacom World in Midrand from 17 to 19 March.

"The survey underpins the overall theme of the event, which focuses on turning BI insights into business profits, and so closing the gap between implementation and measurable impacts," says Ranka Jovanovic, editorial director at ITWeb.

"We felt the market needed a fresh view on what's working here in South Africa and why, and the best place to discuss the findings would be at the summit, a platform known for its many networking and information transfer opportunities."

The summit will also feature BI case studies from, among others, Vodacom, Tiger Brands, Uber and Lion of Africa, which will give delegates industry-specific insights into successful BI strategies and implementations.
