Westcon Southern Africa has appointed Yonika Murugan as its business development manager for the rest of Africa.
Murugan brings critical experience and excellent technical, sales, product and channel management, as well as licensing knowledge to the role, says the company.
Westcon says Murugan's knowledge of the Microsoft solution and product stack will prove an invaluable asset to the cloud solutions division as it works with partners in the rest of Africa to help them create technology solutions to meet their customers' business needs.
"As business development manager for rest of Africa and southern Africa, my role is to assist our partners in growing their existing customer base and generating new sales within their specific regions with both on-premises and cloud solution strategic offerings," says Murugan.
"One of my key responsibilities is to grow the partner base in Africa which comes with its own economic contributing advantages such as skills transfer, revenue generation and job creation as well as the introduction of return on assets partners to our local partner eco system."
She explains educating partners and end customers on both on-premises and cloud solutions is top of her priority list and a huge passion. Creating key partnerships and strong relationships with partners is vital in her eyes.
"I believe Yonika has the skills, knowledge and expertise to help us drive this strategy throughout the region, while providing our resellers with a valuable skills to lean on should they require resources to help them grow their own business while taking cloud solutions to market," says Leane Hannigan, cloud solutions director at Westcon Group Southern Africa.
"My short-term goal is to be as affective in my new role as I can possibly be, bringing awareness around our cloud solutions business unit to our resellers and partners throughout ROA," Murugan notes. "My long-term goal is to be in a leadership role within the business."
The countries in her portfolio include Botswana, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Lesotho and Swaziland.
