Local IT industry stalwart and entrepreneur Gary Hau has joined specialist service provider RDB Consulting as Director: Strategy and Innovation.
With over two decades' worth of experience in the IT and telecommunications sectors, Hau brings with him a unique skill set that will enhance the company's solution offering and open new avenues for RDB Consulting. In particular, his strategic expertise will enhance RDB Consulting's capabilities, which entails driving new opportunities, among other responsibilities.
With a background in software development, specialised consulting proficiency, and expertise in start-up businesses in Africa, Hau's diverse experience provides him with a blend of entrepreneurial and corporate expertise. He has a full 360-degree view of the IT industry, having held strategic management roles in a number of areas over the past 20 years, including General Manager of Architecture and Planning at MTN.
As Director of Strategy and Innovation at RDB Consulting, Hau will use his knowledge and experience to expand the company's procedural and strategic approaches in order to enhance its offering. In addition, he will utilise his corporate approach to pursue opportunities that will grow the business.
"RDB Consulting has extensive capabilities in its traditional areas of expertise, particularly in the database administration space. These can be leveraged to build new opportunities, and even extend into other domains," says Hau. "There are also prospects to expand further into Africa, as well as opportunities to broaden the company's offering.
