Citrix has unveiled a channel programme which the company says is designed to help partners leverage its expanding portfolio of solutions.

The Citrix Solution Advisor (CSA) programme will offer the nearly 9 000 partners across the globe, simplified certification, adjusted revenue requirements, and new incremental benefits and incentives.

Citrix believes the initiative will assist partners to keep pace with the rapid rate of technological change and increase their competitiveness in the marketplace.

According to the company, Citrix Specialisations, the cornerstone of the programme, will qualify, brand, recommend and reward partners for demonstrated technical competency, end-to-end sales capability and service delivery.

The specialisation programme comprises tracks that offer partners the opportunity to self-select the technical category that best reflects their current business model and then add other competencies as their business evolves.

Each track helps partners to acquire technical expertise and best practices for implementation success with Citrix solutions in the areas of virtualisation, mobility management and networking, the company notes.

In an interview with ITWeb, Brendan McAravey, country manager at Citrix SA, said Citrix SA recently announced a number of onsite training courses available to its local partners.

Between April and June, Citrix will offer free technical courses in virtualisation, mobility and networking, he noted. These courses will be run in conjunction with the local Citrix authorised training centre (Bytes Learning), and will include local trainers, as well as trainers from the US and Dubai.

"Participants will have access to the official Citrix online labs. It is estimated 102 individuals will be trained over the next three months," said McAravey.

"The main aim is to ensure partners are equipped to realise faster revenue growth by investing in and leveraging technology specialisations to differentiate their capabilities and offerings to ensure customers derive maximum value from Citrix solutions. In addition, partners that are specialised will be eligible to make up to 50% more in rebates."

There are a total of 85 partners in SA, comprising 67 solution advisors, 12 solution providers, four systems integrators and two distributors.

"Citrix is committed to ensuring the Citrix channel has every opportunity to develop and increase their skills.

"Citrix has listened to its partners and is providing high quality training at no cost or at subsidised costs. Citrix believes this investment will result in a win-win for Citrix, its partners and ultimately customers."
