A dual-SIM version of one of Microsoft's "most affordable Lumias" - the Lumia 532 - has hit South African stores.

The 4-inch display phone will be available exclusively at Cell C, for R1 699 on prepaid and on a Smartchat 1GB contract starting at R149 per month for 24 months. The new Lumia will only be available in black.

The Lumia 532 - successor to the Lumia 530 - features a quad-core processor and 5MP camera, also without a flash. Like its budget counterpart, the 532 has 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which is expandable via a MicroSD up to 128GB.

Microsoft unveiled the Lumia 532 alongside the Lumia 435 in mid-January, saying the two were "the most affordable Lumias" to date.

Ackermans exclusive

The Lumia 435 hit local stores earlier this month, initially through another exclusive partner - Ackermans - on Vodacom prepaid.

Microsoft explains Ackermans is an exclusive launch partner for the Lumia 435. The deal includes the device and a selfie stick for R1 149.

This offer is valid until the end of April, after which the device will be available at The Foshini Group, Game, Pep and Edcon on Vodacom's network, priced from R1 199.

Shaun Durandt, GM of Microsoft mobile devices, says the company's latest dual-SIM offering is aimed at consumers who are looking to buy a smartphone for the first time.

Microsoft had not responded to queries regarding future availability of the dual-SIM Lumia 532 by the time of publication.
