The long-awaited Samsung Galaxy S6 and its curved-side counterpart, the S6 Edge, hit local stores on Friday and SA's operators are gearing up for what is expected to be a landslide of interest.

Vodacom is the first to unveil its pricing options for the new flagship phones, which were unveiled at the start of March.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 LTE 32GB, which will be available via Vodacom in store and online from 10 April, will cost R12 399 (prepaid) and will also be available on a range of contracts, including the Vodacom Smart S for R529 per month for 24 months.

The new curved iteration, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge LTE 64GB, will be available for R16 149 on prepaid, and on a range of contracts including the Vodacom Smart S for R679 per month for 24 months.

All Vodacom Samsung Galaxy S6 contracts come with an additional 3GB of anytime data over three months (1GB per month for three months) and a free wireless charger and cover. The phones will be available in black, white and gold - with Vodacom having exclusivity on the gold version.

Also exclusive to Vodacom, LG's latest curved offering, the LG G Flex 2 LTE, is now available for R10 149 (prepaid) and on a range of contracts, including uChoose Flexi 200 for R469 per month for 24 months.

The LG flagship comes in titanium silver and the first 500 customers to purchase one receive a free Tone Pro headset. Each device is bundled with a protective jell case.

The LG G Flex 2 is LG's second attempt at winning consumers over with its curves, after its first curved offering - introduced in January last year - failed to impress, with many arguing its R10 000 price tag was unjustified.
