Internet service provider XDSL has appointed Kenneth Coert to head up its new business development team.

Coert will focus on driving new business sales within the enterprise, corporate and reseller channel space, while enhancing existing customer relationships and further establishing the XDSL brand in SA.

He says in his new position, he will leverage XDSL's current market position to open doors to new markets and customers to generate new business.

Coert's immediate plan is to develop strategic business relationships with customers, partners and suppliers to align solutions to customers' business and IT initiatives.

His long-term plan is for XDSL to be seen as the new generation Internet service provider. "I want XDSL to become one of the top movers in the fibre connectivity space.

"I believe for a business to be successful; it must have customer-centricity. I am also results-driven, which will assist me to achieve my goals and meet targets."

Coert has garnered experience from key positions within the industry, including his role at Telkom SA SOC over a 12-year period.

His most recent position was as an executive for Wholesale Services, where he was responsible for managing a sales team of account managers, sales support personnel, and sales co-ordinators, as well as a virtual team.

"My experience in the technical environment, account management, solution selling - sales, management, as well as having been the executive for Telkom Wholesale Sales, among other competencies, has been a key enabler for my all-round understanding of the ever-evolving telecommunications industry."

Coert is positioned to deliver value from a strategic, technical and operational level and has the skills to proactively interact with business clients, technology experts, senior management and sponsors - making him the ideal candidate for this position, says Johan Olivier, commercial manager at XDSL.

He graduated from North West University (Potchefstroom Business School) after completing the Implementing Strategy and Managing Corporate Performance (NQF level 7) course.

Coert also holds a marketing management diploma and executive development programme qualification from the University of Witwatersrand, a sales diploma from Stratham Bryce Sales Academy and a certificate in Finance for Non-Financial Managers.
