Mint together with Pamoja are proud Silver sponsors of Cloud & Hosting Conference 2015

Johannesburg, 01 Jun 2015

Cloud hosting is the latest form of hosting that has become extremely popular over the past few years and continues to be a top discussion point in the IT industry. Several large enterprises have made the worthy investment by moving to the cloud and many businesses are currently looking at the prospects of transitioning to the cloud.

However, there is no easy path to the cloud for large companies with decades of legacy IT investments. The burden of legacy systems is just one challenge that adds to the complexity of cloud computing for large enterprises. CIOs and cloud leaders wrestle with many other common challenges, including security and vendor lock-in.

In light of the challenges faced by enterprise to migrate to the cloud, MyBroadBand will host the "Cloud & Hosting Conference", a one-day event geared to unlock the migration to cloud into an achievable cloud architecture framework that will enhance business value.

The conference boasts an impressive line-up of industry thought leaders, who will share insight into cloud technologies for enterprise and how businesses can start the conversation on cloud and hosting or capitalise on existing cloud investment.

Pamoja, the cloud services business unit of Seacom, understands that legal and security issues are some of the biggest obstacles, so it has concentrated on addressing those issues. The company's investment in cloud computing architecture improves access and addresses the issues surrounding the location of confidential and sensitive data as well as service latency associated with cloud services delivered from outside Africa, says Albie Bester, Managing Director of Pamoja Cloud Services.

Mint, a Microsoft Gold Partner, uses Pamoja for its hosted Dynamics CRM environment, which offers its clients scalability, flexibility and security with a disaster recovery site sitting in Kenya. Mint's philosophy of close partnering and sharing risk with dynamic business partners like Pamoja extends to implementing a roadmap that will differentiate Mint from competitors.

The Cloud & Hosting Conference seeks to help business understand the positive implications of cloud for their environments and understand how the right partner can assist in taking their business to the cloud with a solution tailored to their specific framework requirements.

"Delegates attending the event will get great insight into the compelling advantages of cloud hosting with real-world examples, and will get the opportunity to interact with thought leaders in the industry," says Yvonne Dias, Solutions Director at Mint.

The Cloud & Hosting Conference takes place at the Gallagher Convention Centre Ballroom, hall 5, in Midrand, Johannesburg on 9 June 2015.
