EMC Southern Africa appoints Rudi van Rensburg head of XtremIO

Johannesburg, 23 Jun 2015

EMC Southern Africa has appointed Rudi van Rensburg as Head of XtremIO for Africa. EMC's XtremIO product line fully capitalises flash technology and enables the data centre of the future.

Van Rensburg joined EMC Southern Africa in April 2008 as Channel Sales Lead, and has gained extensive experience of both the channel and EMC's technologies over the past seven years. Most recently, he held the role of Senior Account Executive for the company's top 30 accounts in the mid-market and corporate sectors.

Prior to joining EMC Southern Africa, Van Rensburg spent seven years with leading IT distributor Drive Control, and four years as HP Storage Product Manager for South Africa.

Commenting on his objective in this new role, Van Rensburg says he will be leading EMC's XtremIO go-to-market strategy from both a partner and a customer perspective.

"As the recognised worldwide leader in flash technology, EMC is leading the way in redefining the data centre, so it's a really exciting time to be in this market sector," Van Rensburg says. "XtremIO is the quickest growing EMC product over the past year, with massive growth predicted based on the ability of this product line to save costs for our customers.

"My objective is to make Africa the shining star for XtremIO from a global EMC perspective."

XtremIO is a totally purpose-built, scale out, all-flash array powered by Intel processors. It is uniquely designed to address the demands of virtualisation for superior random I/O performance, rapid response times, scalability, flexibility, and administrator agility.
