Digitisation not just an IT issue

Digitisation should not fall into the domain of the IT department alone, but should be a key focus for every department in the enterprise.

This is according to Software AG, which will focus on the revolution facing the enterprise at its upcoming Innovation Day 2015, to be held at UrbanTree in Johannesburg.

"At Software AG, we believe that not every business is a digital business, but every business must become digital," explains Mohamed Cassoojee, Software AG South Africa's VP and country manager. In line with this conviction, Software AG unveiled its world first Digital Business Platform at CeBIT earlier this year. The platform, to be featured at Innovation Day in Johannesburg, adds a layer of agility to enable business to react faster to an increasingly digitised, customer-centric, real-time and multi-channel world.

Cassoojee says in an environment where business in every vertical has to become a software development house, and IT systems must support business growth, businesses must change their systems and strategies to survive. "Traditional retailers, service providers and manufacturers are finding themselves becoming software development houses in their own right, and the role of IT has changed dramatically. IT no longer plays a support role; it must now understand business goals and function as the hub of business innovation. Software AG's new Digital Business Platform is designed to empower both business management and IT," says Cassoojee.

Software AG will also outline the challenges facing organisations in a new era of business during its annual Software AG Innovation Day in Johannesburg. In addition to Mohamed Cassoojee, the event will feature experts such as IDC research manager Lise Hagen; renowned scenario strategist Chantell Ilbury, and Software AG industry experts.
