With the industry's showcase annual event scheduled to take place in Johannesburg this month, Bytes Document Solutions, Platinum Sponsor of Africa Print Expo for the sixth year, is exhibiting a wide range of Xerox digital technologies that are taking imaging industries into the future.
The Africa Print Expo 2015 takes place from 22-24 July at the Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand. Last year's event attracted visitors from nearly 40 countries, with top attendances outside of South Africa from Botswana, Mozambique, Nigeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Bytes Document Solutions marketing and product manager Paul Haglich notes that Africa Print Expo is one of the top events on the calendar: "Not only does it draw participation from across the industry, it also draws crowds from across the continent. That's because it provides an opportunity to see the latest and best the printing industry has to offer anywhere on the planet."
Haglich confirms that BDS is showcasing top Xerox products. "We've selected digital presses and copier/printers that are ideally suited to the graphic arts marketplace, where advanced digital printers are finding favour over office-centric printer/copier type of products."
These devices, he says, deliver the flexibility, performance and quality necessary for graphics arts businesses to flourish. New launches at the show include the Xerox X1000 production colour printing press. Capable of up to 400 000 pages per month and integrating high capacity feeding, stacking and finishing, these machines also provide the ability to print in gold and silver fifth colours. A new Versant 80 and the Efi H1625 LED UV large format printer will also be introduced to the market for the first time.

Continuing, Haglich says these products meet the demanding requirements of commercial printers, print-for-pay, signage printers, and large print bureaux, including government and educational institutions. "More and more print is moving to a digital process because runs are coming down, thereby making it unprofitable to print on offset litho printing machines. Most commercial printers are investing in a digital press to augment their traditional printing press and enable them to provide a faster turnaround service to their clients."
Haglich urges those in the industry to attend.
