The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) will be collecting information about the ICT industry in South Africa to submit to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

ICASA has notified all licensees that the 2015 International Telecommunications Union information communications technologies indicators long questionnaire has been released. The authority is required to collect ICT indicators information on the SA ICT sector, on behalf of the SA government, for submission to the ITU as part of South Africa's obligation as a member state of the United Nations.

The authority will update its database with the information submitted and may use it for future analysis of the ICT sector in executing its mandate.

The ICT indicators questionnaire and definition of the indicators are available for download on the ICASA's Web site.

Members of the ICT industry are requested to submit the information in Excel format to ictindicators@icasa.org.za by 21 August.
