Nominations open for IT Personality, Visionary CIO awards 2015

The winners of both awards will be announced at the IITPSA President's Awards event on 12 November 2015.

SA ICT industry's top annual awards - the IT Personality and the Visionary CIO of the year 2015 - are open for nominations.

The prestigious accolades are presented by the Institute of IT Professionals SA (IITPSA), in association with ITWeb, the Gordon Institute of Business Science and Gartner Africa.

The IT Personality of the Year Award, now in its 37th year, acknowledges an individual who has made a notable impact on the local IT industry and a significant contribution to the IT profession over the last 12 months.

Gian Visser, CEO of Afrihost, won the 2014 IT Personality title, joining an illustrious list of previous winners that includes Alan Knott-Craig, Andile Ngcaba, Mark Shuttleworth, Aleta Ling, Benjamin Mopathlane, Ivan Epstein, Mardia van der Walt-Korsten, Asher Bohbot, Rob Stokes, Prof Barry Dwolatzky and Mteto Nyati.

The Visionary CIO Award, now in its eighth year, recognises an executive who has demon-strated exceptional leadership in using technology to support and grow business.

In 2014, Tshifhiwa-Ramuthaga, CIO of the Financial Services Board, scooped the title, while other past winners include Sal Laher, Rabelani Dagada, Carl Louw, Patrick Monyeki, Sandi Macfie and Sello Mmakau.

The winners of both awards will be announced at the IITPSA President's Awards event on 12 November 2015 at the Hilton Hotel, Sandton.
