The Scrum User Group of SA (SUGSA), representing practitioners and parties interested in Scrum and Agile methods and practices in SA, is set to hold its annual conference.

This year the Regional Scrum Gathering SA will be held on 19-20 October 2015 at the Hyatt Hotel in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

The theme for this year's programme is 'Unlikely Heroes'. "The Agile and Scrum world is littered with unlikely heroes," says Justin Kotze, chairperson of the Scrum User Group of SA.

"Those who see beyond the ordinary to find extraordinary superpowers in the values and techniques. Whether you are a hero in training or a superhero, come and find new superpowers and uncover the kryptonite at this year's gathering of unlikely heroes.

"We are very pleased with this year's programme, it covers a wide range of interests of topics for all agile enthusiasts from product owners, scrum masters, developers, testers as well as other practitioners who are interested in topics such as lean start-up, Kanban and DevOps," Kotze adds.

There are three main tracks on this year's programme - product and innovation, leadership and coaching, and pride in the craft.

This year's gathering features the following keynotes - Andrea Tomasini, the founder of Agile42, Cara Turner, COO and Agile Coach at Project CodeX, and Thato Kgatlhanye, a social entrepreneur.
