allaboutXpert raises the bar with higher level certification courses

Cape Town, 28 Aug 2015

allaboutXpert recognises that portfolio, programme and project management is best supported through a delivery support office. Its Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), and Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O) are best management practice certifications bringing together - in one place - a set of principles, processes and techniques to facilitate effective portfolio, programme and project management through enablement, challenge and support structures.

P3O: Portfolio, Programme & Project Offices

This internationally accredited qualification is aimed at people who work in or aspire to work in a PMO either as a PMO manager, project specialist, project co-ordinator, programme or project administrator.

P3O is a model and a guide on how to set up, implement, refresh and operate a portfolio programme and project office at any level in the organisation. The model covers both the governance and the enablement support services, offering advice to organisations on current best management practice thinking.

P3O consolidates a set of principles, processes and techniques to facilitate effective portfolio programme and project delivery management through enablement, challenge and support structures. These P3O structures also bridge the gap between the strategy and policy makers and the change or project delivery arm of the organisation.

The purpose of the P3O delivery management model is to provide universally applicable guidance that enable individuals and organisations to successfully establish, develop and maintain appropriate business support structures that allow:

* Informed senior management decision-making on strategic alignment, prioritisation, risk management, and optimisation of resources to deliver their business objectives (portfolio management) successfully;
* Identification and realisation of business outcomes and benefits via programmes;
* Successful delivery of project outputs that enable benefits within time, cost and quality restraints; and
* Understanding why, when and how to use the P3O delivery management model, including the difference between portfolios, programmes and project environments and their different requirements.

MSP Programme Management

Managing Successful Programmes is designed to assist organisations in delivering large-scale change and provides those responsible for programme management with a best practice approach applicable to any type of organisational programme. It is an internationally accredited qualification and is designed to raise the bar of practising and aspiring programme managers, teaching them more about the leadership required rather than just the management skills.

This is an advanced programme management framework for delivering the business benefits required from major change, while addressing the need for sensible governance and control over multiple projects.

A programme can only do well if the projects within it succeed. The concept of a programme is that it should be more than the 'sum of its parts'. Without programme management, the projects would probably still be able to deliver their particular outputs, but these would not be co-ordinated or integrated in a way that will achieve the strategic goals. Programme management helps to lead, organise, manage, and control projects and the overall programme to achieve the final outcome and meet the objectives set by the business strategy.
