CensorNet, the complete cloud security company, today announces that, with immediate effect, it has acquired Florida-based cyber security company Sirrustec's e-mail security platform, archival and storage technology, which further enhances CensorNet's product portfolio. CensorNet has also acquired the Sirrustec global e-mail security customer base as part of the deal.

The Sirrustec Software Email Management Platform, which has highly advanced cyber threat analysis and anti-malware detection capabilities, already processes hundreds of millions of messages per day. The deal not only increases CensorNet's threat analysis capabilities, but Sirrustec's global customer base means the company is able to expand its geographic reach.

In turn, the acquisition will give Sirrustec's existing customers access to an improved, faster and more resilient infrastructure offered by CensorNet. This will include a global network of data centres, with multiple sites in Europe.

"We are pleased to have acquired Sirrustec's e-mail security platforms and archival, storage technology," explains Ed Macnair, CEO at CensorNet. "Sirrustec has an excellent reputation in working with MSPs to offer them the ability to add hosted e-mail security scanning to their business. This, coupled with our advanced multi-tenanted, multi-tiered hosted Web security solutions, gives MSPs the opportunity to achieve more revenue and greater customer retention, while solving today's real customer challenges around cyber threats.

"This agreement provides extra resilience and protection to our customers using Microsoft Office 365 and to those using Microsoft Exchange, whether hosted or on-premises. Over the coming weeks, we will be working closely with Sirrustec to ensure our combined customer base continues to receive a seamless service while benefiting from our highly acclaimed CensorNet technical support service," adds Macnair.

The full terms of the deal were not disclosed.
