Online ticketing service Ticketpro will now be the preferred ticketing partner for all events and conferences taking place at the Johannesburg Expo Centre at Nasrec.
Ticketpro, a subsidiary of JSE-listed Blue Label Telecoms, has entered into a long-term partnership with the venue and will also provide the centre with complete access management at events.
"Ticketpro has rolled out a new, and significantly advanced ticketing and access control system at the venue, which will offer numerous benefits to all parties, including convenience, ease of use and overall, a great event experience," according to Werner van Reenen, CEO of SA distribution at Blue Label Telecoms.
He says the Johannesburg Expo Centre opens its gates to over one million people annually across a range of business and trade events, as well as popular consumer events. Ticketpro is excited to use the partnership to extend its market share and grow its brand recognition further, following the sponsoring of the Ticketpro Dome announced earlier this year.
Besides the Dome in Northgate, Johannesburg, Ticketpro is also the official ticketing partner of Cricket South Africa, the Blue Bulls, Super GP, and the Whisky Live Festival, among others.
"Through this partnership, the centre will be able to introduce Ticketpro's professional services to all its customers, including exhibition and event organisers, exhibitors and event visitors. The ticketing solutions offered by Ticketpro will present a seamless experience at the venue for all involved," says Johannesburg Expo Centre CEO, Craig Newman.
Tickets for events at the venue are available online as well as at Edgars, CNA and Jet stores via Ticketpro kiosks, as well as the new Edgars Connect standalone stores.
"Considering the large-scale size and scope of events held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, including the Rand Show and Lifestyle Show, our technology in bulk ticketing will be an ideal and effective tool offered through the Ticketpro system," notes Van Reenen.
He says another essential element for event organisers is post-event assessment and reporting.
"Through our ticketing solution of advanced technology and database management systems, Ticketpro is able to provide an event organiser with detailed reports providing event and attendee related information. This assists organisers in further tailoring their functions for appropriate audiences and their interests, while also ensuring ongoing project success measurement."
