Following the landmark rollout of the Gauteng provincial government's broadband network and having installed hi-tech video-conferencing and WiFi facilities at the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Altech received the highest accolade available to Huawei's local partners when it was named Partner of the Year for 2015 at the recent Huawei Annual Partner Conference.
Huawei's annual awards event recognises exceptional performance among its partners in South Africa. In addition to the Partner of the Year award, Altech also scooped the Networking Partner of the Year and Service Delivery Partner of the Year awards.
According to Altech Collab National Sales Manager, Caroline Beswick, the accolades are testament to the great work Altech is doing in partnership with Huawei in all areas of technical design and implementation of Huawei's comprehensive ICT solutions.
"We have made considerable investment in our people and the technical skills needed for us to be able to successfully complete the projects to date. Huawei have thus recognised the value we add to its organisation."
Altech signed a value-added partner (VAP) agreement with the leading global ICT solutions provider in 2012 that covers a number of countries, including South Africa, Angola, Botswana, DR Congo, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
As a result of the VAP agreement with Huawei, Altech recognised there was a need to create a business entity dedicated exclusively to the provision and ongoing support of efficient information technology solutions and services to its enterprise customers. This led to the establishment of Altech Collab, a new business operation within Altech Radio Holdings (ARH), with the sole intention of providing Huawei enterprise products and services to customers in the South African and southern African markets.
Altech is currently the most active Huawei partner in South Africa and is Huawei's only four-star certified service provider and VAP.
The awards cement Altech's position as the leading Huawei partner in South Africa, built on a reputation for innovation, solution design, integration skills and service delivery.
