Crystal Web cuts data pricing by up to 50%

Cape Town, 06 Oct 2015

Crystal Web has slashed its DSL data pricing and increased data caps across their product range. As a part of the internet service provider's on-going network expansion and commitment to passing savings on to its customers, Crystal Web has reduced its prices by up to 50% on some products, while increasing its data caps, adding free unlimited Midnight Express data on products, and lowering network contentions.

Crystal Web CEO Shaun Kaplan explains that it's important to pass on savings to customers to remain competitive, and having recently quadrupled the service provider's network capacity, they are now in a position to pass on these benefits to end users.

"It's always been our ambition to remain competitive based on our network performance, which we've achieved in 2015. We're now geared to maintain existing quality levels at even lower price-points, something we believe should be passed on to end users on both the business and home fronts. The ISP space is a volume-based business and the greater volume we push through our network, the more efficiently we can operate it, which is why we have made the decision to reduce costs substantially to our end users without having to sacrifice on network performance."

Crystal Web's home clients now benefit from unlimited Midnight Express data which according to Kaplan is all data (no matter the protocol) that is consumed in data sessions that start between midnight and 6am every day. "Usage within these hours has been zero-rated for all home and standard business capped customers, and is also not considered towards the Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of any uncapped products on the network" says Kaplan. Crystal Web has also greatly reduced the price of these accounts, with standard business capped data being reduced by up to 50%, and home capped pricing being reduced by up to 30%, while adding unlimited midnight data to these packages.

Crystal Web recently introduced an Epic Business Special for SMEs with capped data at just R1.50 per GB, and have further added to this portfolio of affordable business products by reducing business uncapped pricing by up to 50%, and turning this into an unshaped product. "Business clients are often neglected when price-changes come along, as most ISPs expect them to subsidise their heavier home users. At Crystal Web we've opted to massively reduce business uncapped data as well as unshape this to ensure superaltive quality of service in those crucial business ours when quality of data is needed most. Our business uncapped pricing is now in line or often cheaper than our home equivalents, which ties in with us simplifying our product offerings," says Kaplan.

In addition, Crystal Web will next be embarking on reductions in price on many of the company's fibre-to-the-business (FTTB) products and associated value added services. "With the recent introduction of our carrier grade VOIP services, application and operating system streaming from the cloud, cloud hosting, VPN, WAN and LAN installations, wireless data services, and now the reduction in data prices on traditional DSL services, it's an exciting time to be a Crystal Web customer."

Kaplan was shy to provide an exact date that their online TV and movie streaming services would go live, but promised that the wait would be worth it and available to all of its resellers.
